The Albufera Natural Park in Mallorca is a marshland with an approximate area of 2,580 hectares and a perimeter of 32 kilometers. In this area the predominant vegetation is the hurdle and cesquera (thatch) which were once used to feed livestock, among other uses. The fauna living in the Albufera de Mallorca is abundant and diverse. There are about 230 species of birds that nest or spend the season in this nature reserve.
